Marc started in theatre, co-founding Three Monkeys Theatre Company as actor/director. He performed a long running, and critically acclaimed, one-man show in London, based on a contemporary version of the Alan Sillitoe novel, The Loneliness of the Long-Distance Runner.
He worked at the BBC for 10 years where he wrote, produced, and directed many documentaries, comedies, and dramas. In 2000 he left to go freelance and has since become a sought-after director, working internationally on award winning work that ranges from powerful, character-led dramas to some of the world’s biggest action shows. Whatever the genre, story and character lie at the heart of his work.
Credits include NBC’s cult hit Hannibal with Mads Mikkelson, Laurence Fishburne & Gillian Andersen; Netflix’s global hit The Witcher, starring Henry Cavill; Sky/Amazon/HBO’s Tin Star with Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks; and Marvel Studio’s Daredevil, Luke Cage, and The Punisher for Netflix
He directed Andrew Davies’ feature adaptation of Sleep With Me, and Peter Moffat’s multiple award-winning BBC series, Criminal Justice, starring Matthew MacFadyen, Sophie Okonedo & Maxine Peake.
Working with Richard Jenkins, Rhys Ifans, Ashley Judd and James Cromwell he directed the finale episodes of Epix/Paramount’s high-octane spy thriller Berlin Station.
Marc was Director/Executive Producer on the pilot episodes of ONE PIECE for Netflix, credited as being the first successful live action adaptation of a Japanese manga and anime. On launch it broke all records and was number one in the world in 84 territories for several weeks.
He is attached to write/direct the movies Home and Ninth Fortress as well a number of television series.
